HistoryEdit

When the National Soccer League finished it's final season in 2003-04 the Football Federation Australia was looking for a brand new competition for Australia.

2005-06Edit

The first ever season of the A-League produce 8 teams with them being Adealide Untied, Central Coast Mariners, Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets, New Zealand Knights, Perth Glory, Queensland Roar and Sydney FC. Sydney FC won the first championships beating Central Coast Mariners 1-0

2006-07Edit

Season 2 of the A-League started on the 25th August 2006 to the 18th February 2007 with Melbourne Victory destroying Adealide United 6-0 to be the biggest grand final victory of the 7 seasons so far. This was the last season for the New Zealand Knights as they dissoved to be replaced by the Wellington Phoenix
