The Filipino Premier League was the top level football league of the Philippines, operating under the country's football governing body, the Philippine Football Federation. The league was announced on August 2, 2008 and started on September 21, 2008. It was discontinued after the inaugural season.

United Football LeagueEdit

After 2008 season,FPL has discontinued. In 2009, a group of businessmen formed United Football League. Their aim is to revive Philippine football and bring top-class club football in the country. There are 2 tournaments UFL put up, LBC Cup and LBC League. So far, the league has received media exposure, both in print and tv. UFL is sanctioned by Philippine Football Federation.
