The season of unpredictability. After 37 games and 94 minutes the season's title was decided in the final minute. When Manchester United finished the season they were ahead of Manchester City by two points, but Sergio Agüero's goal in the ninety fifth minute of their last game secured the title on goal difference for City. The last relegation place was also decided on the final day, with Bolton Wanderers joining Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the bottom three.
